Henry Co, Mo, Sep 16 1905 - Adam D. Dunlap, 73, died at his home in Montrose
Monday September 11, 1905. Born in Augusta County, Virginia, February 15, 1832.
Came to Germantown some time in the 1859's and in October or November 1860
married Mary Paxton, who survives him. Five boys and two girls him: William
living in Greenville, Texas; James and Albert, in Henry County; Elza, Walter and
Mrs. Alice Gentzel, living in or near St. Joe; and Mrs. Lucy Delany of Kansas.
All the children were present at his death though when Walter and Alice came
Sunday night, he did not recognize them. After the war broke out, he enlisted
July 23, 1863, in Co. H., 7th Regt. M.S.M. which soon after was consolidated
with Co. B of the same regiment and served until the close of the war. He was a
blacksmith by trade and many people knew Ad, the blacksmith, who were not
familiar with his name. The flag he loved so well now marks his last resting
place in the Montrose Cemetery.
